A compilation of my findings, interests, and actions from the past week that might be of interest to you. It allows me to share the results of my weekly routine, and you can follow too!
Hello you!
Here you will find my findings from this past week, things I’m thinking about, and discovering. If you enjoy it, feel free to forward this along to friends (they might enjoy it too!).
What I’ve listened to:
Video’s I saved:
What I’m excited about:
Automate: Like talking to chat gpt? Talk on your phone ! (I was supposed to post this on 22nd of April, but life threw me off course. So this might be a little late to the party).
Quotes I’ve liked:
“ You can render to God and humanity no greater service than to make the most of yourself.” - Walter Wattles.
“All great people exhibit ‘Unwavering faith’, and are fully aware that the chief challenge of life - and its chief success - is to be able to replace fear with faith on a daily basis.” - Walter Wattles.
“It is your fathers pleasure to give you the kingdom.” - Walter Wattles.
This week’s curiosities, interests, and thoughts:
Thoughts:
In order to produce content, the outside world must become boring, or we must forget about its stimulant and spontaneous ways. The reason for this mainly, is that our internal world and process must become interesting to us. And in order to highlight the mundane, we must create a baseline in which mundane is normal. When exposed to dopamine hits consistently, it creates a dependency, we crave excitement in order to ‘reexperience’ the high. Our nervous system feels good when we engage in anything novel, which is why social media, and even social is so exciting. The brain craves new experiences. That’s how it grows, that’s how its been built. To adapt and thrive.
Although, in the world we live in today, big tech and other smart organizations have harnessed our brains natural need for novelty. Which is why we have social media and scroll endlessly. It’s not for our good, its for their gain.
This is the reason for all boy schools, kids would focus on their work if they weren’t lured in by the appeal of a cute girl or boy. This is why many companies have been men only, this is why artists isolate and writers keep to themselves. This is why elite don’t mix with the rest of the ‘scum’ in society. There are multiple reasons for this.Being in control of our external conditions allows for us to control what our brain consumes. What our mind consumes it also processes, and in turn what it processes it produces. As we are the product of our thoughts, we are the product of what we consume on a day to day basis.
Reducing external stimulus allows us to compound our energy, thoughts, ideas, etc.
Being in control of WHEN we stimulate our nervous system is also crucial in how we ideate, when we produce thoughts, and how we rest and recover.
Being exposed to any hype from anywhere means that our lives are influenced to a large degree by fear, lust, greed etc. Marketers have understood this very clearly. Control the emotions, control the actions. People -in large part at least- are controlled by how they feel. (Think discomfort? Grab a bun. Think depression? Grab a coffee. Think inadequacy? Buy lots of goods on amazon to compensate… Uneasy with our emotions? Turn on netflix to numb how we feel.).
When we master our environment, we also master the direction of our actions. As I’ve already said in multiple other posts, when you control your vision of the future, you control your ability to act because you accept the gift within the present moment: the emotion to take action. If you’re overcome by fear because ‘the global economic reserve is going to crash’, you can bet your actions will be shaped towards buying toilet rolls and canned goods… think about that for a second. Your emotions control your actions, the input that goes into your mind controls your emotions. It is not because no one’s there that your actions don’t count. At the end of the day, your actions are between you and yourself. Or you and God. Recently I lost my father, and I kind of had a meltdown on my discipline for a week or two. And although most people would say this is entirely normal, I’d say that facing how we feel is normal and that does take a moment. But, it doesn’t matter if my father is on a cloud or in another room, the quality of my actions ultimately reposes on the intention I put into them. And that intention is based upon the vision I have for the life I want.
Both ‘The millionaire fastlane’ and ‘The science of getting rich’ express the same message between the lines. It’s not the road/ the skills .. that matters in getting rich, it’s the way that its done. In ‘Think and grow rich’ the same picture is depicted, its the will to get something that ultimately defines if we get it or not.
Our father, teaches us about our Father through his example. The way we relate to our tangible father is the way we then relate to him once he is immaterial. Your father incarnates God from the second you’re born.
Any activity that takes hard focus over time is ultimately worth lots.
A friend you keep is someone who can match your evolution rate with your current direction. They don’t have to be the same, but complimentary, additional… They must also have either a degree of personal development that is equal to yours, or an evolution of personal development rate that is similar to yours. Two cars driving down the same road at the same time enjoy the journey together. But a slow car and a fast car driving at different paces don’t match velocity. At some point the slow will burnout, or the fast will get bored.
If we’re to do anything good in life, we must first gain momentum. That will then create ease of direction. Going uphill isn’t great for speed or velocity, but the more momentum we gather, the more balanced the playing field. The hill levels out in relation to the speed and weight.
To feel in control of ones life one must have control over ones self, but more so, if you can be in control of your space you can feel in control.
When others decide of the events of your life for you, they also determine that you are NOT in control. To feel and be in control, exert control over thoughts, then thoughts over body, then body over matter. If I had to start from scratch: what would I do?
What would I put in my life?
What would I tolerate and no longer tolerate?
What would I aspire to?
Where would I be?
How would I be treated?
How would I eat?
What skills would I master?
Those who control the media control the narrative. If they control the narrative they influence and sell lies to incite the masses to benefit 'their empire'.
To create desire create pain. I noticed this on my flight a few weeks ago. I flew Low-cost with Ryanair and I realized something unescapable.
The allure behind a cheap flight ticket locks us into a purchase.
The cheap flight ticket then puts us on a cheap flight.
Once we’re on the cheap flight, we have very little room, have no ability to bring our own food and drink on the plane, we’re mixed with all sorts of hoypaloi.
Bad service + long patience = Pain point. Now that they have created the pain, and we’re strapped in for a 2hour flight. We have a pain-point: discomfort. To which they propose the solution: pleasure/desire.
To squeeze money out of people you must create an environment that forces them to purchase. The pleasure - pain dilemma.
Create an environment of pain that people cannot control, and propose comforts for them to deal with the pain = pleasures or purchases.
If you want people to buy, you must create a need “if you don’ purchase X, you will miss out(fomo), you will suffer (pain), you will die (fear)….
The pain can be imaginary, physical, fear of missing out, inability to drink, move…Ex: stuck in a plane during X hours and the need to cope with pain: cravings, boredom, elation, novelty, desire (100K car on a scratch card…).
Never reduce a girls father, no matter how great you feel about yourself. It sets you up to compete with someone who loves and always will love their girl. A girls first love is her father.
Dantés Inferno is a roadmap to success. While people think that they are looking at Hell, they are looking at the pitfalls that keep people in hell. Lust, gluton, and so on… these things destruct our well-being.
To make 1Mil or 1Bil, you have to make the decision to make that. Not the decision to start a business, not the decision to learn a craft, not the decision to better yourself - these are all things that help, and support the making of, but won’t make the sum- you must make the conscious decision to create a system that will provide money and you must learn to get over your fear of making that money.
Ideas are like apples, at first you must plant the seed, then you nurture the plant, then you grow it, and you continu growing it until it produces apples all the time. Except you don’t have to wait for seasons because the mind isn’t an actual tree, just resemblant.
Have you ever noticed how when you ‘exchange’ with someone you swap traits on a subtle level? You like someone’s tidyness, and they like your work ethic, suddenly there’s an ‘appreciation’ (to grow/appreciate something is to grow it), and a while later we recall that they admired that within us, and that we admired within them, and because we appreciated their traits, we grew them in ourselves at the same time.
Your Train of Thought is your clarity of direction and presence. Your ability to make clear decisions is based upon your train of thoughts in relation to the future you are set on.
LEARNING FRAMEWORK:
What does this mean?
What does this do?
How does it fit in with the rest of my knowledge?
How does it contribute?
What is its point?
What is complex?
What is difficult to understand? Can it be deconstructed?
What do I already know that resembles this?
What knowledge does this require for me to build with?
How do I explain this in my own words? What is a metaphor for this?
Can I explain this?
Who can help me explain this?
To learn well, discover what you don’t understand and find multiple perspectives on that topic. Like the black car with the woman on the bonnet at the Dali museum, surrounded by multiple windows allowing to see it from many vantage points.
Discipline must be exercised, but around what we want to do.
Forcing yourself to do something you don’t want is stress.
Doing something you love = passion.
Why do we love doing something? → It’s subjective, it relates to what we love → Matches a need, allows us to evolve in a direction → It benefits us. → We’re good at it… If we can get good at something, we can enjoy it. Thus why we need to learn before we do.
Work when your energy is full, when you have recovered. Not because of discipline, but because of good choice and judgement with what to do with one’s energy. Can you gain momentum? Is it constructive? Does it amount to anything you can repose on?
Knowledge is power to the ambitious.
We create the future with the thoughts we create and have. So when we create predictions, guidelines for what to do, we can follow them without too much question. As if automated.
Mastering our future by controlling the inputs that go into our minds is the difference between creating a future we want and living a life we don’t want.To make money you have to solve problems. And generally we don’t see a problem as a solution. We see it as a pain point. Something we dislike. Though problems are the source of money if you can build a system for solving them and removing a users (pain holder) pain point. So learning how to find problems, and learning how to solve them are two very compelling skills to have.
When reading Breath deeply, your mind will have more bloodflow and oxygen to focus with.
We have body, mind and soul. We must feed the body, the mind and the soul.
Food sustains the body, reading feeds the mind, and creating value for others feeds the soul. It seems that the soul is about output and connection, while the body and mind are about input.
Questions:
What components compose the process that creates wealth?
