A compilation of my findings, interests, and actions from the past week that might be of interest to you. It allows me to share the results of my weekly routine, and you can follow too!
Hello you!
Here you will find my findings from this past week, things I’m thinking about, and discovering. If you enjoy it, feel free to forward this along to friends (they might enjoy it too!).
What I’ve listened to:
Video’s I saved:
What I’m excited about:
Sparks of Artificial General Intelligence: Early experiments with GPT-4
Building a GPT + Youtube: Building a GPT from scratch
Quotes I’ve liked:
“If not for you
The winter would hold no spring
Couldn't hear a robin sing
I just wouldn't have a clue, if not for you.” - George Harrison
This week’s curiosities, interests, and thoughts:
Thoughts:
Mans mission:
A mans mission is to fill himself up with all the good things, thoughts, experiences.
His mission is to fill himself up with the best, and if not the best transcend what’s difficult or ugly into what’s amazing and attractive.
Mans mission is to color within the lines with his own authentic shades.
His purpose is to impregnate his woman, and then the minds of those around him with positivity and grace.
Women are like Flowers:
She will bloom in relation to what you are and how you treat her. What you say to her and how you make her feel.
If your woman is ugly, maybe ask yourself if you’re the cause of her inability to bloom?
Master the basics before focusing on the exotic.
Confirmation on coffee:
caffein elevates cortisol, shrinks hippocampus and creates a layer of fat around the gut.
Reading feeds our inner train of thought → Strong inner train of thought = Confidence, momentum, productivity → consistency = stability, dependability, reliable → Writing allows me to structure who I am, gain clarity with what I want, what I do, and be consistent to the world.
Idea to help the homeless:
Offer poor people a business bundle:
1 month of squarespace,
1 laptop,
1 internet connection,
a fully functional business
See how that helps them.
In order to get people out of homelessness you must give them a system, not just the fish, you must teach them to fish for fish. Offer them a system and they’ll replicate it over and over. If they don’t know, how can they?
Money ≠ Energy:
Your energy is not equal to your amount of money.
If you feel the need to spend, perhaps you need to spend your energy or express and accumulation of thoughts. The amount of money you can have ≠ the amount of energy you have.
So it doesn’t matter if you have low energy, if you serve millions, you will be rich.
Also, you don’t have to be rich to be high energy, high health, high wellbeing.
Money & Energy are disconnected.
Money is a multiplier. While Energy and time are finite resources.
Multiply the output of your energy by focusing, spend it in high ROI activities and use your money for high ROI financial activities.
We focus on buying stuff because we feel uncomfortable right here and now and don’t want to “miss out”. So the more we look at amazon, the more we hope our basket will satisfy us because we feel unsatisfied, doubtful, unconfident, uncomfortable where we are now: here.
If you don’t know something exists you can’t apply it. People need to stop being stupid when it comes to learning. If you don’t read about something, understand how it works or even have the knowledge that the action you’re taking exists, how on earth do you expect to take action?
The reason I’m not worried about AI, although the idea of some Matrix style AI Octopus does keep me up at night, is that the rise of AI accentuates doing what we want to do rather than doing what we don’t want to do. If a machine can do it better than you, then why would you do it? If you have no pleasure in the task, you will simply pass it on. Simple as that. Which is why when it comes to creating for the sake of creating, as human beings we get to be driven. We run from pain and we run to pleasure.
I believe there is a reason why we stay away from social. Despite the obvious reasons being that social won’t feed you when shit hits the fan, social doesn’t help us when we need to change ourselves. Change takes a lot of introspective work, a lot of hard work, and accepting our zones of denial. But more so, I believe that social only works when we are around people who are good for our development, who view us in a positive light, and want what’s best for us. Otherwise social is a waste of time, energy and conflicts us.
Social, if it is to be accepted in our lives must contribute in making our life better:
building our mindset,
mutual growth,
opportunity exchange,
networking,
support…
It should not however have any components that make your life worse:
people who don’t respect you,
people who talk behind your back,
people who can’t perceive your change,
negative people,
people who don’t put in, at the very least, the same amount of work you do to make their lives better,
any form of doubt as to their character,
…
Questions:
What drains you during your day? Who are the people who don’t respect you and leave you feeling empty when you exchange with them? Where are your one sided relationships?
You can also give me your feedback on Twitter @check_goldberg. What did you like most about this week’s findings? What would you like more or less of in this newsletter? Any other suggestions? Please let me know. Just send a tweet to @check_goldberg and put #saturdaysevens at the end so I can find it.
