The N1 Reason we go through trauma out of the blue...
“In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.”
―Albert Camus
We go through trauma, or difficulties that break us, because we are uniquely chosen to go through those difficulties. Because we have the unique skillset, toolset and wisdom to bear the weight and then transmute it. If we couldn't overcome it, we wouldn't have it in the first place.
We go through things because we are suited to overcome them, and in so doing we lead a way for others who are not.
Your current trauma or struggle is actually a test to see if you learned the lessons during the last 10 or so years. (As everything is cyclical, ever 12 or so we go into a new phase).
So, your current struggle is actually just there to see if you learned the lessons and can apply the tools. So you’re given this big bad monster to defeat, and in the process you realize that you’re a lot stronger than you think.
And during this struggle season, you get to dig deep for those tools you found and crafted in previous seasons so that you can deal with whats in front of you now.
If you didn’t have the potential, God wouldn’t give you the struggle to overcome. If you didn’t have the ability to grow your soul muscle, he wouldn’t lock you in the gym of the soul.
And overcoming this final boss, gives you the possibility to be in absolute mastery over yourself and your life. And thus, you step forward into phase II. Other people. Once you’ve been through your personal dojo, and you’ve been through the hundreds or thousands of reps, you’re then called to become the sensei yourself to guide others who are dealing with the precise struggles you overcame over your last seasons…
And just before you get to enter that new season, you have to walk that last mile. Where there are no guard rails, no guidance, no-one to help you overcome your stuff, and you’re faced with the demon until you gather enough mistakes and misteps to figure out and out-do it, by using, combining and inventing from past tools and experiences. But first, you must go through the deafning silence of being cut off, isolated, broken, shattered, reduced, and limited in as many ways possible for you to sprout forth through the concrete.
Without limitation, you’d have nothing to fight against.
When God decides to knock you the f out, its to place you exactly in the right place to get back on track. But first God needs you to submit, because if you don’t, and you’re put in that position of power without the humility to know that you’re not in charge of the story, then you’ll make grave mistakes and get in trouble. So you must be stripped of your power, so that you can find it again.
All the silent, dark, isolated time you spent (in my case the last 13 or so years..) where there for preparation, were there to give you insight, to shape you, expand you, so that when this moment of test comes you can put everything you’ve learned to the test and pass with flying colours. The nitty gritty, the moments when you’ve wanted to stop living, the excruciating pain, the intolerable torture you felt powerless to overcome … the stuff that no person around you could help you with or understand you with… that is the stuff that grows you. And when you get to that last silent invisible powerless mile, you start slow, weak, broken, broke, and you finish with strength, speed, conviction, momentum and riches. But you’re required to go against the thing pushing against you, against the thing you’re afraid of, against that thing giving you resistance.
